Near-Life Experience

Toward the evening of 20 August, I fell 20 feet off a rockface while walking in the Black Cuillin on the Isle of Skye. Miraculously, I escaped with a minor headwound, and numerous cuts and bruises. I walked out of the coire, minus glasses and watch, and some very kind passers-by took me to the hospital to get cleaned and stitched up. The fall itself was a special, almost spiritual moment, not that I'd care to repeat it, but in a sense I'm glad it happened. It gave me new insights.
