Dear Mark,
Thank you for your reply. I understand your confusion on this.
Yes, the little cloud means that the trait is not stably at the level shown
on the graph and could mean that someone or something in your life has a
negative influence over you in this area. This could lead you into being
active in areas that are not of your choice but rather being forced on you
and thus making other traits lower.
There are certain traits to look out for in people that help one spot where
this influence comes from and enables you to do something about it.
Would you like to know more about this?
Regards,
Janne Bjork

Dear Janne,
Well, I'm definately active now, positively buzzing. Arsenal just beat Juventus in a magnificent display of technical football. I was screaming so loud after each goal that the cat went and hid behind the curtains. I haven't seen him since.
As to more serious matters, I am intrigued by your suggestion that I can look out for traits in other people to help me spot negative influences they have on me. I am normally pretty blase about how other people react toward me, so I guess this could be a fruitful area for me.
Oh, I do remember that today someone at work gave me a bag of crisps if I would help them with something, even though I am trying to watch my wieght. Is this what you are referring to?
Good stuff,
--Bill

Not sure where to go on this one but here goes:
Heard the one about "a glass is half full or half empty, depending how you look at it" well there really is only one way to look at it. It is half empty, and when you finish drinking, you'll have to refill if you are still thirsty.
Idem with a petrol tank or Oil reserves. It is half empty. When the tank is fully empty you need to refill or the car won't move. Now when Oil reserves are gone they are gone - that is why they are called non-renewable resource.
And no, you'll not be able to fill up with GAS, because that is something they were burning off for years, before they discovered it could be liquified for domestic use and/or propelling cars.
Of course if a Green Scientist from Cambridge University could turn CO2 into something we could use as a fuel, he would become a Nobel Prize + dollar millionaire.
Incidentally heard about the frenchman who 50 years ago invented a car that would run on H2O, they made him disappear, or maybe just relocated him and gagged him with US$millions
Solomon's choice: Cut the baby in half. No, give it to the mother who would rather give the baby away than see it cut in half.
But Palestine is not a baby, it is a piece of land - that would fit in your pocket or neatly into the East of England. except of course you cannot take land away with you.
What we are talkin here is not true or false ownership of the baby, but the determination by one half to disown and make disappear the other half, and accusing the other half of being the bad guys.
Imagine if in the US they were to accuse the descendants of native americans, of being the bad guys or ignorant because they did not recognise 'ownership' of the land and tried to live in harmony with nature.
A House you can only 'own' till you die, land you can only 'own' till you die - even your body you only 'own' till you die. So these arguments about ownership are all a little bizarre to say the least.
And let us not enter into intellectual property. Imagine if one were to claim to be the descendant of he who invented speech - or let us say English for simplicity - would he have intellectual property of everything that has been written or said in English including Microsoft & Apple, and of everything that was ever learnt by a child at school, and consequently or subsequently turned into whatever business venture, capital, industry, science, medicine or pharmacy
Yeah Platypus, blase is the only way to be.
If Son of Bush wants to invade a country to keep his generals in medals, and his GIs occupied, so be it.
I still can't get over the fact that GI stands for Government Issue, as in the government of the day owns you just like any other piece of hardware, from the moment you sign or enlist till the moment you die or discharge.
But hey, its not much different whether you work in education, health, road sweeping, road building or even building airports
Everybody has to earn a crust, and take home the bacon, some do it in the job of their choice, and some have no choice in the job they do.
Scientology prefers those who are in jobs they like, or second best jobs well paid even if you are not particularly keen on the job you do.
In advertising it helps if you can sell even what you don't like.
In sales it is a bit harder to sell what you don't believe in.
Here buy this mobile it is the best on the market and comes with the best package - uhh do I need a mobile?
here buy this dress, it'll make you feel good - uhh, I don't think dresses are my thing
here buy this car, it'll make you go faster - uhh, faster than the speed of light? faster than the 30MPH limit? faster than who or what?
here buy the latest DVD, widescreen TV or whatever, so that you can be the first to see what will be a repeat a little while later - uhh did Arsenal just score?
